Why the name RockList?

Our centerpiece remains the list of climbing related links and online resources. One of the many new features for the year 2,000 is a database designed to make the task of searching and updating links easier. If you would like to add or correct your link please send us an email. There is still no charge to be listed, and we do not require that you have a link to RockList on your own web page to be included.

The DataGuide

RockList has added a new online guidebook. This guidebook is a custom designed data management system that is proprietary to RockList. It is implemented with the capacity to accommodate every climbing area and route in the world. It will be authored and kept alive by our viewers.

You may share our fond memories of the days when guidebooks were often tattered notebooks kept under the counter of a local shop or tied to the table in a hut. As people passed through they would enter new route information, update conditions and note interesting local developments or situations. A note in the local book would occasionally help climbers communicate about local issues or concerns. That tradition is the essential model for the RockList DataGuide. Commercial Operations

RockList will continue to be supported by advertising sales and commercial partnerships. It is clear to us however, that the continued success and existence of RockList will depend on the loyalty of our visitors. For this reason we intend to guard our personal limitations regarding the presentation of advertising quite closely. RockList does not participate in "C.O.A." or commission based affiliations. Submissions

RockList accepts submissions of writing, reporting, photography, or other creative content in any common media format. We offer payment ranging from $35 - $200 dollars for certain materials that we select for publication. We will not publish any materials without previous agreement as to terms.
